How to Use
Candle Care Guidelines
To ensure the quality and longevity of your candle, we recommend following these steps:
- Wick Maintenance: Trim your candle’s wick to 1/4″ before each lighting or once it has cooled. Never trim a burning candle, and discard the snipped wick in the trash—never leave it in the jar.
- Wick Positioning: Keep the wick centered and away from the sides of the vessel.
- Prevent Tunneling: Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the jar during each burn to prevent tunneling.
- Repurposing: Once your candle is finished, consider reusing the jar. Clean it out and repurpose it as a planter, pencil holder, or anything you like! [Click here for tips on reusing your empties].
Safety First
Candles contain a small flame, so it’s important to follow these safety precautions:
- Supervision: Never leave a candle burning unattended, near drafts, or within reach of children or pets.
- Burn Time: Don’t burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Wick Management: Do not allow the wick to curl over, as this can create a larger flame than normal.
- End of Use: Stop burning the candle when only 1/4″ of wax remains.
- Handling: Do not pick up a burning candle or immediately after it’s been extinguished.
- Surface Protection: Always protect the surface under the candle, regardless of the material.
